The revised Shropshire bus timetable is now the county’s most punctual public service. It appeared online and then stayed in exactly the same place all day.

The Shropshire bus timetable now has new departure times, altered services and extended routes. Passengers can calculate the exact minute the council stops being involved. The bus can then begin its private arrangements.
Geraldine Stop Pocket, director of Rural Vehicle Possibility, said: “The 24 now leaves three minutes earlier. That does not mean it will arrive earlier. We are changing the information, not indulging in fantasies.”
One supported route now goes farther. Residents expect to be abandoned outside a different closed chemist. This is the sort of regional investment they had expected.
Officials have not updated a single bus. They call that sensible because no vehicle in the fleet can read.
Council staff have put revised times in six PDFs. Each lets passengers discover their stop has a parish spelling last used when television had one channel and nobody expected a bus.
Officials tell passengers to download the right PDF before travelling. Then they should download another. The first may describe a village with the same name in a different century. They call this information resilience. Here it means no one will answer the phone.
“It keeps things local,” said Stop Pocket. “Local to a filing cabinet in 1974.”
An open top sightseeing service will show visitors Shropshire, its rain and their own financial choices. Officials call it immersive because nobody can escape it.
Officials issued drivers with a timetable. Drivers will carry it around as evidence that somebody, somewhere, has heard of time.
At press time, a display announced a bus due in six minutes. Residents started probate forms. The paperwork would be ready when it did not arrive.
