June Observances Seek A Quiet Afternoon

June observances are so numerous that the global calendar has requested one quiet afternoon to raise awareness of having a sit down.

June observances achieve maximum calendar density

June observances pack the United Nations calendar more tightly than any other month, leaving humanity little time to solve problems between remembering which cause needs a ribbon today. The calendar now resembles a moral advent box with no chocolate and alarming administrative overhead.

June includes days for oceans, bicycles, food safety, dialogue, play and many serious human concerns. Each deserves attention. Together, they have begun competing for the same patch of public consciousness and the only available blue banner.

Every cause receives its own carefully appointed Tuesday

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on 15 June highlights a grave issue. The following day marks the International Day of Family Remittances. International awareness has never recognised weekends, annual leave or the need to find another clean lanyard.

“We have reached peak observance,” said Calendula Date Square of the Office for Coloured Ribbons. “Tuesday currently holds three causes and a webinar fighting for the same eleven o’clock slot.”

International days can educate the public and mobilise action. However, the Department of Ceremonial Momentum has warned that adding a logo does not mobilise anything beyond the person who orders tote bags.

The calendar applies for compassionate leave

Officials proposed an International Day Without an International Day. The proposal required a logo, a theme, a media pack and six meetings about whether rest needs a steering group.

It has now joined the June calendar. There, it sits between a genuine global concern and another genuine global concern, waiting for someone to notice the irony before the next awareness email arrives.
