Star Wars Droid Follows Owner Carrying 20 Pounds Of Canon

A Star Wars droid can now follow its owner with 20 pounds of cargo, custom noises and no apparent opinion about the prequels.

Star Wars droid joins the household rebellion

A limited-edition Star Wars droid will follow its owner and carry up to 20 pounds. At last, the galaxy’s greatest technology can transport shopping while fans argue about canon beside it.

The yellow G1T4-M1N1 uses cameras and sensors to navigate around people. Its makers call this pedestrian etiquette, which already places it above several humans operating wheeled suitcases at railway stations.

The cargo robot features astromech styling, custom sounds and status lights. Owners can connect through an app, name the machine and stream music until it develops the confidence of a cantina DJ.

“It carries snacks, merchandise and the emotional burden of Episode Nine,” said Gideon Parsecs, Master of Domestic Hyperspace. “That still leaves room for a light cardigan.”

Unlike R2-D2, the robot does not repair starships or reveal vital messages from princesses. It follows at a comfortable distance, a skill that would have shortened several films and most Imperial corridor scenes.

At the Council of Licensed Space Errands, engineers tested its loyalty with a supermarket run. The droid returned safely but had replaced every biscuit with official collectible biscuits in a numbered tin.

Humanity once imagined robots would free us from labour. This one carries 20 pounds while we hold the phone needed to check its battery. The Force now includes technical support.

For collectors, the appeal is obvious: a companion that follows faithfully, carries the shopping and never asks why the house contains three different Darth Vader mugs. The only remaining question is whether it can survive family life. A firmware update is expected after it sees a dog wearing a Yoda costume.
