The UN Youth Forum has discussed how young people can build an inclusive, sustainable future, although the meeting received no official coverage because the present is experiencing a liquidity crisis.

Sessions covered decent work, green finance, science and technology. The agenda promised to unlock youth potential while the communications budget remained locked in a drawer marked unfortunately.
Celeste Shortfall, Rapporteur for Events Nobody Recorded, said: “Young leaders brought bold ideas and urgent energy. We captured both using a borrowed pencil and the institutional memory of whoever stayed until four.”
The forum invited youth-led organisations, governments and business to bridge gaps in skills and jobs. This required cross-sector collaboration, which occurs when three lanyard colours approach the same plate of sandwiches.
Meanwhile, delegates explored innovative finance. The most innovative proposal involved paying for the coverage of a finance session, but accountants rejected it as dangerously circular.
Young participants also addressed artificial intelligence and the digital divide. The sound system demonstrated both issues by becoming sentient and refusing to recognise microphones from developing countries.
The forum ended with a call for inclusion. Its conclusions will reach everyone as soon as somebody reconstructs them from calendar invites and a photograph of the final slide.

The UN says young people will shape the decades ahead. This is encouraging, as the current generation has spent several decades shaping the invitation list, the breakout room allocations and a final declaration calling for urgent action after lunch. Delegates were assured their ideas had been heard, filed and placed in a folder with a future proof password.
