BRICS summit receives an increasingly damp complaint
The BRICS summit heard that disasters are accelerating. Earth confirmed this by filing its complaint through heat, floods and weather that had clearly stopped waiting for a customer service reply.
Leaders met in Rio to discuss the environment, global health and COP30. They agreed the problems were connected, urgent and ideally suited to three separate panels with matching name cards.
The UN Secretary General called for progress on climate and biodiversity finance. Delegates considered how much nature might cost after centuries spent assuming it came free with the venue.
The declaration sharpens its verbs slowly
“The planet’s concerns have been logged,” said Ambassador Fernanda Weather Folder, Senior Liaison for Escalating Signs. “We expect a full response within four to six geological eras, subject to lunch.”
Poorer communities face the greatest harm when disasters strike. Summit hospitality nevertheless performed strongly, proving international cooperation can still deliver chilled water exactly where chilled water already exists.
Brazil was preparing to host COP30 later that year. This gave leaders another chance to turn alarm into action, or into a declaration whose verbs become less specific on every page.
Officials promised cooperation across climate, health and development. Each area will receive the same careful attention normally given to a group photograph where everyone wishes to appear concerned but not responsible.
The atmosphere presses zero for a human
Leaders then posed beneath excellent lighting. Outside, the atmosphere cleared its throat, checked the reference number and selected the option marked speak to a human.
