International Yoga Day unfolds the planetary mat
International Yoga Day has asked humanity to consider Yoga for One Earth, One Health, which begins with the planet trying to breathe through 8.2 billion people asking whether their pose looks right. Earth would prefer not to discuss alignment at this time.
The eleventh observance links personal wellbeing with planetary health and sustainable living. This means every downward dog must now pause and consider its carbon footprint before returning to an expensive water bottle.
Diplomacy attempts to touch its toes
Yoga originated in India and connects body and consciousness. The Office of Flexible Diplomacy hopes nations will follow, although several still cannot reach their toes without opening negotiations.
“Breathe in cooperation and breathe out unnecessary tension,” said Ananda Mat Folder of Strategic Stretching. “Also breathe out the delegate blocking the aisle with a bolster and two opinions.”
Events around the world brought people together to practise. Meanwhile, Earth attempted the tree pose but lost balance when everyone stood on the same northern hemisphere.
Wellness discovers a planet beyond the product range
The theme encourages care for self and environment. This unsettled several wellness influencers, who had expected planetary health to arrive as a powder in a pouch featuring their name in serif lettering.
At the final relaxation pose, humanity lay quietly for almost a minute. Earth used the silence to ask whether tomorrow’s sustainable lifestyle might involve fewer next day deliveries of yoga mats.
The request remains under consideration. Someone is currently ordering a new mat because the old one does not match the revised colour of inner peace.
