The real news is simple. UK whisky products will have tariff free access to the US from 24 July, while the Government celebrates the deal’s wider economic importance. The comic extension is the hoop’s sudden belief that it now ranks as a senior participant in international relations.
By closing time, the barrel had prepared a speech, commissioned a portrait and appointed itself special envoy to Kentucky. Officials refused entry because they could not decide whether to stamp the passport or simply drink the evidence. The hoop now considers this a customs dispute and has demanded a summit with the cork.
