Earth Oxygen Linked To Magnetic Field After 540 Million Years

Earth oxygen and the magnetic field have moved together for 540 million years, after the planet finally submitted its extremely overdue records.

Earth oxygen survives an unusually deep audit

Earth oxygen appears to have moved with the planet’s magnetic field for 540 million years, which makes this the longest workplace relationship ever to avoid a proper meeting. NASA scientists found a correlation. The two systems still refuse to say what they are.

The magnetic field comes from movement deep inside the molten planet. It changes over time, apparently because even a planetary electromagnet cannot maintain consistent performance through half a billion annual reviews.

The spreadsheet begins before fish look organised

Researchers compared records of field strength with atmospheric oxygen. The patterns fluctuated together. This gave science a correlation of extraordinary length and historians a spreadsheet that begins before fish had settled on faces.

“The core has always worked behind the scenes,” said Professor Igneous Compass Wobble of Internal Planetary Affairs. “Sadly, it does not use email. It communicates through geological eras and a tone of quiet disapproval.”

The research does not prove a direct cause. Consequently, the Bureau of Ancient Coincidence has opened a careful inquiry and set its next progress meeting for the late Cretaceous.

Magnetism and oxygen decline to define the relationship

Earth’s field also helps protect the atmosphere from charged solar particles. Oxygen denies that it needs help. It says magnetism is simply a long term colleague with whom it occasionally shares a wobble.

After 540 million years, neither system has changed its status online. Both confirm only that the relationship is complicated, planetary and far too established to discuss at a dinner party.

Scientists will continue studying the link. The planet will continue supplying breathable air and an extremely old internal mystery, which remains more than most organisations can offer.
